The Day I (Nearly) Lost Everything
Death, Love & 12 Million Dollars
Two years ago, pancreatitis nearly killed me.
Years of drinking had finally caught up with me.
The doctor said, “Quit now, or you’ll die.”
So I did. June 26, 2022.
Three months later, I was on a feeding tube.
For seven months, I couldn’t eat. It was hell.
My wife kept me alive. She kept the business alive too.
We hit $12M that year. Record-breaking.
The craziest part?
I wasn’t even there.
Let me explain…
The fact is: I built it that way.
It took several years to build that all-star (and I mean ALL-STAR) team!
The team stepped up. They knew their roles.
No babysitting, hand-holding, not one missed day.
Once a week, they came around to my place and I dished out orders.
They saw me at my worst… but that didn’t stop them working harder than ever.
They took ownership. They ran the show. Held each other accountable.
They did it just like they knew what they were doing!
Because they did.
Without them? That $12M year wouldn’t have been possible.
I’m still proud of all of them today.
Okay, so what did I learn from this Near Death Experience?
The BIG one?
Systems are EVERYTHING.
Build your business so it runs without you.
If you’re not there, can it survive?
Mine did. Can yours?
If you want to scale to 7 figures and beyond, the answer to that question MUST be a straight-up YES.
No exceptions.
Where I’m at now?
I’m sharing what I learned. Helping others build businesses that don’t need them every minute.
Because life will hit you. You won’t get a warning, no time to prepare.
If your business can’t run without you, what are you waiting for?
If I could go back…
I’d have quit drinking the first time I was hospitalized.
Don’t wait for a wake-up call. Health and family first.
The lesson is simple:
You can’t do it all. And you shouldn’t.
You will make more money when you stop trying to do everything.
My message to my clients, and my audience and general is simple:
Delegate and win.
Trust your team. Give them the power to step up.
If you don’t, you’re not building a business — you’re building a trap…
